Richmond Randle Excels at Football in Year 2 of Varsity Ball

10/31/23

Year 2 of varsity football has been quite successful for the Randle Lions. The school opened its doors in 2021 and soon hired their new football coach who just happened to be the son of the man the school was named after. Brian Randle, who’s father is former superintendent, Thomas Randle, had a difficult task building this new program The process got even tougher this year when Randle had to deal with injuries to 8 of their returning starters. But they’ve persevered and have improved on last year’s 4-6 season and now are currently 8-1 and locked into a playoff spot. But winning games is only part of being a member of the Lion family. One of the youngsters Coach Randle doesn’t have to preach that much to is freshman Running Back, Landen Williams-Callis. Before Randle even put a clipboard in his hand and a whistle around his neck, he had already heard about the football phenom. That might be a slight exaggeration, but only slightly. As a 15 year old, Williams-Callis already has scholarship offers from Oregon, Georgia, TCU and many many more. And he has the pedigree too as one of his cousin is former NFL running back, Jacquizz Rodgers. Now he’s one of the toughest tailbacks to bring down in Texas even as a freshman, as he’s already got the admiration of his coaches and teammates.
