Hightower and Friendswood kicking off the postseason at Alvin Memorial Stadium Mustangs with the ball first and methodically march down the field and cap their drive with the 12 yard touchdown run by Sam Longbotham, 7-0 Friendswood on top Hightower answers with their own touchdown and need just this extra point to tie the game but Robert Grays takes the bad snap and takes off and eventually finds the endzone for the 2 point conversion to give the Hurricanes an 8-7 lead. Hurricanes back on offense now and going for it on Fourth and 7 and quarterback Neiko Hollins connects with Joseph Black for a 28 yard touchdown toss, 15-7 Hightower with the lead........ Second half, Mustangs on fourth and goal from the 19 and the trick play is a throwback to quarterback Brandon Sargent, it's ruled a lateral and bounces off the ground right into Sargents hands and he takes it in for the touchdown, 2 point try is good and we are tied at 15 Hightower knocking on the door and quarterback Neiko Hollins with the sneak is in there for a 22-15 Hurricanes lead Canes strike again, this time it's Cortland Boykins in the fourth quarter with a 29 yard touchdown run to put Hightower up 29-15 But the Mustangs storm back, on the strong running of Sam Longbotham and send it to OT and win it over Hightower 35-29.
