People dropping from the sky to see this rivalry game at the RIG!
First quarter, no score, Dawsons Gage Green scrambling for his life and finally sees Braylon Howard break free so he tosses it to him on the run. Howard turns it into a 46 yard touchdown and the Eagles up 7-0.
Second quarter Oilers tie it up as LaDamion McDowell would do some tough running from the 21 including a stiff arm near the 5 to score. McDowell with 143 yards by halftime. 7-7.
But Dawson would get the lead back...Greene to a wide open Bryce Burgess by the sidelines. Defender has the angle, but Burgess has the jets....and he's gone. 55 yard touchdown and Dawson would take a 7 point lead.
Late in the half, Dawson gets a big play by another Burgess kid....This time it's Brycen Burgess who makes an interception in the end zone to help the Eagles win the Defensive Title Belt and preserve the 14-7 halftime. lead.
4th quarter, same score, Bryce Burgess puts this game on ice with a 26 yard touchdown up the middle. Dawson wins 21-7 and after going winless in the non district, the Eagles could all but clinch the 23-6A crown with a victory over Shadow Creek next week
