What a game between Deer Park and Pasadena Dobie Friday night.
Although it didn't look like it early on. Up 7-0, Deer Park's Landon Kieselhorst (Key-seal-hore-st) throws a short pass to Hayden Smith and Smith would do the rest for a 50 yard touchdown pass play. The Deer up 14-0.
In the 2nd half, you gotta see this catch. Kieselhorst goes deep to King Phillips and watch the sensational acrobatic catch. Wow. That sets up a short score and Deer Park would lead 35-14 early in the 3rd.
However, Dobie wasn't done fighting. 4th quarter, deep in their own territory and the Longhorns run the double reverse, but Ethan Nguyen (Win) passes it and its right on target to Tariq Riley for a 80 yard touchdown. Dobie down 35-24.
36 seconds left, Longhorns down 5 and Juan Huerta (Who-wear-ta) forces his way in from the 1. 2 point conversion good and Dobie is up 38-35.
Last chance for Deer Park kicker Xavier Hurtado (Her-tah-dough) to tie it, but he misses the field goal and Dobie pulls off the upset 38-35.
