Otaro Alaka, Cy Falls High School Football - Chevy Spotlight
Cy Falls Head Coach Kirk Eaton has coached his fair share of division I talent in fact he sent 4 players to FBS schools last spring alone. Bite: Kirk Eaton We've never had a kid with this many scholarship offers, he was 30 when he finally decided. Otaro Alaka has been a mainstay on the Cy Falls varsity since his sophomore year, he plays tight end in some situations, but his future at least for now appears to be at linebacker where he racked up 11 sacks and 3 interceptions last year. I'm very versatile I can play the pass as good as I can run. The versatility stretches beyond the field, he's a great athlete, but also an outstanding student carrying a 3.5 grade point average. The balance of a top tier football program and a top tier academic institution let him to commit to UT in the spring. Really important to my parents sister goes to Georgetown, brother goes to Rice on a football scholarship. Big brother will give him grief he graduated with a 3.9 friendly competition on the field and in the classroom, they push each other. He's strong, fast, smart, and equally as driven. The night he announced he was going to UT, finally makes his decision I get to work and he was the first person I saw at 6:20. After a disappointing first round playoff loss a year ago, the eyes of the Golden Eagles will be on Otaro as they battle their way in the ultra competitive district 17-5A. He'll get to be with his new family the Longhorns next year but right now he's our leader and I'm glad he's our leader. With this week's Chevy Spotlight, I'm Dave Knobler
