North Shore vs Pearland Dawson - 2019 Texas High School Football Playoffs Week 2 Highlights

Pearland Dawson looking to knock off defending state champion North Shore…

On the first play from scrimmage, North Shore gives it to star running back Zach Evans, and Evans bursts through a hole on the left side. He’s off to the races, and takes it 74 yards before he’s dragged down inside the one yard line.

On the next play, Roger Hagan punches it in and the Mustangs race out to a quick 7-0 lead.

Next North Shore drive, the Mustangs hand it to Hagan, he turns the corner, splits a couple of defenders, and he turns on the jets. He takes it the distance, 60 yards for another North Shore score, Mustangs up 14-0 early.

Dawson looking to answer, Quarterback Myles Kitt-Denton keeps it on the read option, he gets to the edge, and look at him go. Kitt-Denton takes it 69 yards for an Eagles touchdown, Dawson back in it, down 14-7.

But North Shore marches right back down the field, Dematrius Davis calls his own number and muscles his way way for a 4-yard score. Mustangs up 21-7 after one.

In the 2nd, Evans gets bottled up, but great improvisation to pitch it back to Davis, I don’t think that’s how it was drawn up but Davis scampers in for a 12-yard touchdown, Mustangs starting to pull away.

Later, it’s Evans on the carry again, another big hole to run through thanks to that North Shore offensive line, Evans looks like he’s gonna go all the way, but the Eagles punch the ball loose, but there’s Ismael Fuller to fall on it in the end zone for a touchdown, North Shore rolls to a 58-35 win, setting up a rematch with Katy next week.
