Atascocita strikes first as Brice Matthews swings it out to Keith Wheeler, great blocking by the Eagles, and Wheeler sprints 45 yards down the far sideline to open the scoring, 7-0 Atascocita.

But North Shore’s defense comes up big on the next possesion, as Upton Stout intercepts the pass and heads the other way for the 30 yard touchdown return to even things up at 7 apiece.

Later in the first, North Shore’s Dematrius Davis connects with Zach Evans out of the backfield, and Evans is all alone. He can coast down the field, he goes 74 yards for the score, North Shore up 14-7.

Back come the Eagles, Matthews on the play-action and he flips one over the top of the defense to a wide open Landen King. King takes it the distance for a 66-yard touchdown and it’s knotted up at 14.

Still in the first, Taylor Thomas gets the carry for Atascocita and he takes it 14 yards for the touchdown, Eagles on top 21-14 after one.

North Shore responds in the 2nd, Evans goes up the middle, nice move to evade a tackle and he scoots in for a 24-yard touchdown to even it up at 21 apiece.

More Mustangs, Davis with the pump fake, he decides to take off and run, great decision, plenty of room to run right up the middle of the field, he goes 37 yards for the score, Mustangs lead 28-21.

Then it’s Evans, he waits patiently for the hole to develop, he scores his 3rd TD of the first half, and North Shore leads 41-21 at halftime.

In the third, Davis calls his own number again, and look at him go, 71 yards for another touchdown, and North Shore is headed back to the state semifinals with a win over Atascocita.
