North Shore Mustangs vs. Judson Rockets - 2013/14 Boys Basketball - 03/08/14
North Shore head coach David Green had taken 3 other teams to state tournament, but never won it all. Jalin Hart was hoping to give his coach the ultimate win against a Judson team that hadn't allowed 50 points all postseason. Judson hasn't been to state since 2001, but finished the regular season as the #1 ranked team in 5A thanks to shooters like Tony Allen who drilled the 3. On the break Brandon Green the coaches son, passes to Kerwin Roach for the tough layup. The North Shore's pressure defense was a difference maker in this one, Roach picks Rayshon Winn's pocket and goes in for the 2 handed stuff. How about Hart going into the lane and the pretty pass to Jarrey Foster for the bucket. Foster led the Mustangs with 16 points and added 10 rebounds. End of the first quarter Roach with the pull up jumper that puts North Shore up 17-10 in a low scoring affair. Judson's 6-9 Post David Wacker he's the son of Judson head coach and former Texas Longhorn great Mike Wacker showing some tough low post moves under the basket in front of Shaq no less. Chuckuemeke Egbule with the basket, the Mustangs win the first state basketball in school history 57-45 the final. We were 10th 11th in the rankings all year, looking up at the Plano West's and the Judsons, I told the kids to keep working hard and we'll get a chance to play them.
