What a matchup in 4A region 3 #7 Barbers Hill and #19 Montgomery. The Bears press was giving Barbers Hill fits early on, Delaney Maberry picks the pass and then some great ball movement to Heidi Schroeder as Montgomery jumps out of the gate to a 10-0 lead. Barbers Hill was held scoreless for almost 6 minutes, but Leah Silva stops that with a 3. Off the inbounds pass Emily Minor with a 3 from the same corner, it beats the buzzer to tie things at 12 after one. Barbers Hill gets its 1st lead of the game on this Taylor Ballinger 3 pointer late in the half and had a 28-26 lead going into the break. The Eagles would go up by as much as 7 in the 3rd when Montgomery stormed back. Maberry drives and gets the bucket and the foul for a 3 point play. Marissa Garcia with a little shake and bake to tie it at 37, it was all part of a 13-3 run and Montgomery was up 43-40 after 3. 4th quarter Barbers Hill stops the bleeding Silva with the 3 point play as the Eagles regained the lead 46-43. Back and forth it went, Malloree Schurr goes baseline and gets it to fall as Montgomery squeezes it out 64-62.
