Let’s move to Class 5A now, where Manvel meets Lamar Consolidated…
Early on, Manvel’s Tucker Yarbrough drops back goes deep to Jalen Paxton, and Paxton pulls it in for a 33 yard scoring strike, Mavs jump out to a 7-0 lead.
Later in the first, Donovan Eaglin gets the handoff and he has a big hole to run through, he breaks free for a 41-yard touchdown run, and Manvel races out to a 27-7 first quarter lead.

Lamar Consolidated rallies back in the 2nd, BJ Harris lofts one up into the end zone for Michael Clark, it’s a 16-yard touchdown pass play for the Mustangs.

And then just before halftime, watch this, it’s the running back Daniel Blackmore with the jump pass for Cameron Dotson, it goes for an 11-yard touchdown and Lamar Consolidated is back within 10, down 34-24 at halftime.

But the Mustangs just don’t have an answer for the Manvel rushing attack. Eaglin takes this one 44 yards to the house to put the Mavs up 41-24 in the 3rd.

Eaglin isn’t done, he rushes for 5, count ‘em 5 touchdowns on the night, this one goes 24 yards, and Manvel rolls past Lamar Consolidated 62-34 is the final, and the Mavs move on to face the winner of our next game.
