Manvel vs Fort Bend Marshall - 2019 Week 4 Football Game of the Week

Manvel and Fort Bend Marshall both fired up for this big district clash at hall stadium.

Marshall gets on the scoreboard first, Malik Hornsby drops back and fires for his favorite target, Devon Achane, and Achane can easily trot into the end zone for a buffs score, it’s 7-0 Marshall.

Manvel comes right back down the field, and Tucker Yarborough lofts it up for Jalen Walthall, 17 yards scoring strike and that knots it up at 7 apiece.

Manvel takes its first lead in the 2nd quarter, as Donovan Eaglin plunges into the end zone from five yards out, Mavs go in front 14-7.

Marshall responds on the ground, as Hornsby keeps it himself on the designed run, it’s a 6 yard touchdown run that evens it back up at 14.

Manvel marches back down the field and yarborough fires for Jalen Paxton, it’s a 7-yard touchdown pass, Manvel leads 21-14.

Still in the 2nd, yarborough has all day to throw, he rolls to his right and airs it out for Zion Johnkins in the end zone, it’s a 25 yard touchdown pass and the Mavs build a 28-14 halftime lead.

In the third, Achane gets the handoff, works his way through traffic, somehow gets into the open field, and the Achane train is leaving the station. He races down the sideline, breaks one more tackle and goes 64 yards for the Buffaloes touchdown, that cuts it to 28-20.

The Mavs respond on the ground. Jaron Vaughn gets the carry and he has a huge hole to run through. Great blocking by the big guys up front and it’s a 31 yard score, Manvel up 35-20.

Marshall not going away. Hornsby finds Achane, and Achane breaks loose and scampers 17 yards for his third touchdown of the night, it’s 38-28 now.

Manvel driving and looking to put the game away, but the Marshall defense forces the fumble and there’s Christian Jackson to recover for the buffs. Marshall is back in business with great field position.

Not surprisingly, the buffs get it to Achane. This time on the pitch, and watch him do his thing, he tightropes down the sideline, it’s a 20-yard touchdown, and the buffs are within four at 38-34.

Marshall with one last chance, same score, 13 seconds to go, Hornsby drops back, but he can’t find any receivers, and here comes Kalen Cox for the sack, and Manvel pulls off a bit of an upset, as the Mavs knock off Fort Bend Marshall, 38-34 is the final.
