Needville finished 4-6 last season, but were 9-2 going into their 2nd round game with Lumberton
First quarter, Needville's Keilan (Key-len) Sweeny fires a dart to Braydn Gilliam who pivots and then takes off for a 29 yard touchdown to start the scoring. 6-0 Blue Jays.
Still first, and the Needville defense steps up. Austin Anderson snags this overthrown pass and goes 30 yards for the pick 6 giving the Blue Jays our Defensive Title Belt this week. 14-0 Needville.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Sweeny takes it himself, bounces off some would-be tacklers and goes 45 yards to pay dirt. Needville rushed for 315 yards as a team and they beat Lumberton 52-28 to advance to the regional semifinals.
