La Porte on the road at Friendswood for a showdown in 9-5A Divison I
Friendswood a slight underdog in this one but they get some early momentum...First play of the game, on the deep ball Nolan Smith gets behind the Bulldog secondary, great pass by Luke Grden and it's 6-0 Mustangs.
La Porte would counter through the air as Cooper Upshaw runs the play action to his big tight end, Albert Regis who uses his body to outfight his defender for the touchdown, but the Bulldogs trailed 9-7 at the half.
In the 2nd half, La Porte has a nice drive going until Upshaw fumbles, picks it up, but Friendswood's Elliott Spiller didn't spend all those days in the weight room for nothing....he wrestles it away and is gone. That's an 82 yard strip and score. Mustangs pull off the victory 19-7 and are right back in the playoff race as both teams are 2-2 in district.
