La Marque Cougars vs. Worthing Colts - 2014 Football - Week 10
It's not often that you see teams play each other twice during the regular season but that's what took place at Butler on Thursday night as Worthing hosted La Marque. The Cougars had beaten Worthing 59 to 6 earlier in the season and on the first drive it looked like more of the same as Daquan Jones darts to a 51 yard touchdown to give La Marque an early 7-0 lead. Right before the end of the half Jalen Williams finds Corian Laday for a 26 yard touchdown pass to make it 21-6. Laday is pumped as he notches his 2nd touchdown of the season. But Worthing comes right back, Alfred Robertsone with a 45 yard pass to Darius Washington for the touchdown, the Cougars went into the half up 24-12, but they knew this was a much different game than the first time these two teams met. 3rd Qtr. Worthing facing a fourth and goal from the 14, Robertson skates out of trouble and just gets in cutting the lead to 24-20. Late 3rd, Worthing jumps offsides, and it's a free play as Williams finds Demetrius James all alone for a 61 yard touchdown pass. 30-20 Cougars. 4th quarter and it was still up for grabs, Tommy Young has a 66 yard kickoff return deep into Colts territory to set up a score to make it 37-26. Alfred Robertson on the keeper, gets outside and takes it 62 yards for the score cutting the lead to 37-32. The Colts couldn't stop the Cougars though, Jalen Williams with the QB sneak and La Marque emerges with the win 51-38.
