La Marque Cougars vs. Waco La Vega Pirates - 2013 Basketball - Week 9

3A regional semifinals from Johnson Coliseum on the campus of Sam Houston State University. Waco La Vega taking on the La Marque Cougars. La Marque's Demon Mercer follows his own miss in the lane and is successful with the putback for 2 points. Then it's Mercer leading the fast break and dishes to Paris Clayton for the transition layup as the Cougars lead it by 17 at the break. 2nd half, the Pirates come out with a couple of quick buckets like this floater in the lane by Jaquan Tatum. Then La Vega gets things going on defense with the huge block and they are off to the races as Eric Ervin finishes with the fast break layup. But the Cougars were just too tough on this night in large part to Paris Clayton who cans the three pointer. Then Clayton slices down the lane and follows his own miss for 2 more and La Marque's lead is now 20. Clayton shows off his passing skills as well as he hits Mercer for another easy bucket, and then he just toys with the Pirates defenses with this behind the back dish to Lawrence Montegut and La Marque rolls into the regional final with a 67-51 win.
