Kyle Tillman, Tarkington High School Band - Chevy Spotlight

July 21, 2018
Well I'm in a wheelchair because I was born with Spina Bifida and scoleosis which is a piece of fat mass which is pushing into my spine making it harder for me to walk and control my legs. Kyle Tillman was inspired to join the marching band thanks to a presentation from the school band when he was in intermediate school, now he's the inspiration. He's got a steeper hill to climb, you can see it out there everyday in practice when it's getting hot, and we're in our 15th run through, he's pulling with his arms, doesn't miss a set and doesn't complain. he doesn't hold us back, he inspires us it's obviously hard, but never complains such an inspiration he's so patience and it amazes me, I can't put into words. Nats of music... The band's routine is designed to put Kyle in a position to succeed, but it's far from easy. There's the field gas isn't the easiest thing to push a wheel chair in a lot of fields aren't perfect. We're in a different stadium every week we don't know what to expect on the road is the ramp somewhere else, was it rainy and he's digging trenches. Technically Kyle may march a bit differently, but the experience of being a member of the Longhorn Marching Band is exactly the same. It's fun just everything we do. It's pretty awesome, the games on Friday nights are awesome have fun there, contests we do good at it's fun to go to those. Kyle Tillman and the Tarkington Band, this week's Chevy Spotlight.
