Kingwood Mustangs vs. Spring Lions - 2013 Football - Week 10

Kingwood started the season out with a 6-0 mark, but the Mustangs had to stop Spring & QB Darius Lee-Campbell to avoid a 4 game losing skid. Kingwood was already down 14-0 in the 1st quarter but Logan Clift dumps it to Isaiah Shepherd for the score, it cuts the lead to 14-7. Spring works it's way down the field and Campbell hits Daniel Gallagher for an 11 yard touchdown and it's 21-7 Spring after 1 quarter of play. But Kingwood comes to life in the 2nd qtr, Clift connects with a wide open Josh McPhereson for a 65 yard reception. The nice run after the catch would lead to a Mustang touchdown cutting the lead to 7. 21-14 Kingwood continued to shake off the slow start in the form of some big special teams play, Sky Gagliano blocks the punt and AJ Crawchick swoopes in and returns it for a touchdown tying the game at 21. Kingwood had 2 blocked punts for touchdowns on the night. Campbell shows the dual threat athleticism as he ran for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, but it was Kingwood's night as they move into the playoffs with a 45-35 win.
