Katy Tompkins took on Katy as 19-6A started district play Friday night.
Tompkins took the early lead as Wyatt Young threw a quick 1 yard touchdown to Caleb Blocker and the Falcons were thinking upset as they led 7-0 after 1.
Katy erased those thought in the 2nd quarter. Romel Jordan scores on the 12 yard scamper and we have a tie game at 7.
Then the Tigers started using their big tight ends. First it was Gunnar Nelson rolls out and finds Luke Carter on the 4 yard touchdown. 14-7.
Then, Nelson goes deep to tight end Colton Sanders who lets his defender throw him in the end zone for a 35 yard score. Tigers led 21-7 at the half.
Second half, Katy at the 1.....they try the QB sneak, but the ball is fumbled....watch Jordan rummage through the bodies...pick up the ball and take it to the house. That's Katy magic right there.
Tremayne Hill would score on two short touchdowns in the 4th as Katy scored 41 unanswered points to win their district opener, 41-7.
