JT Granato, Kinkaid High School Football - Chevy Spotlight
July 21, 2018
In his 20 plus years as a Houston sportscaster John Granato isn’t known for keeping his sports opinions to himself, except when it comes to his blue chip quarterback son JT. Not that there's much to complain about. While the elder Granato had a successful high school career and went on to play quarterback at Knox College he leaves the finer points of the game to his radio co-host Sean Salisbury who had a 10 year professional football career. At 6-3 and around 200 pounds JT is one of the top quarterbacks in the state and a big get for the Rice program, and equally important, it’s a great fit for JT. His dad’s passion for sports has been a big part of JT’s development, but the bright future that lies ahead is all his own. Congratulations to Kinkaid’s JT Granato this week’s Chevy Spotlight honoree. Best of luck to JT as he heads off to Rice next season, and of course more pressing is trying to get Kinkaid back to SPC glory. The Falcons have won 3 of the last 4 SPC titles and in addition to JT Kinkaid has Offensive Lineman Tyler Higby who has committed to Michigan State, and Wide Receiver Sam Mays who is bound for Illinois. Of course Episcopal will have something to say about all of this SPC championship talk, the Knights defeated the Falcons last week in a high powered showdown.
