Isaiah Taylor The Village School Guard Feature Chevy's Inside High School Basketball
He's got all the moves, but Isaiah Taylor's best move didn't take place on the basketball court. Coming down here really picked up my work ethic and made me work harder to see what the grind is like. Big time journey to come all the way here from California and play he really loves the game of basketball he just wanted to play and then it turned out well for him. That would be an understatement, Isaiah was an unknown commodity on the basketball court, so he moved away from home in Oakland to the Village School before his junior year to chase his hoop dreams...and it worked. Isaiah got the exposure he was looking for and just like his jumper offers from around the country started pouring in. Coming down here not having a scholarship and just in one year a year and half worth of work coming down here and now I'm committed to the University of Texas it all paid off. There's some high expectations, after all the last elite point guard to sign with Texas from Houston with dreadlocks was TJ Ford out of Willowridge twelve years ago. But a trip to the final four one day isn't out of the question with Taylor's skill set. He's just so competitive that's the biggest thing, and then he's a pass first guy he gets excited to see his teammates score a basket so that makes him a great, and then he's just a great athlete he can do some great things with the ball, and he can put the ball in the basket as well. You'd figure he'd be good on a fast break too, after all he knows a thing or two about being in transition. Dave Knobler Chevy's Inside High School Basketball.
