Both Kingwood and Humble have already clinched playoff spots and are trying to position themselves for the postseason now…
Humble leads 3-0 in the first, when Kingwood commits a costly mistake on the punt return, as the ball comes flying out and Aaron Lockett is able to corral the loose ball for the Humble recovery, Wildcats in business.
The Humble offense cashes the turnover into points. Dexter Wyble fires downfield for Donald Harper, it’s a 17-yard scoring strike and the Wildcats lead 10-0 after one.
In the 2nd, Wyble goes back to air and finds a wide open Dontee McCray in the end zone, it’s a 9-yard touchdown pass and Humble leads 17-0 at halftime.
In the third, Wyble continues his aerial assault, as he lofts it up for McCray, and what a job by McCray to pull that one for his second touchdown of the night, Humble up 24-0 after three.
In the fourth, Kingwood’s takes the pitch and scoots into the end zone from 4 yards out to get the Mustangs on the board, trailing 24-7.
But the Wildcats shut the door as X’Zavier Sidney powers his way across the goalline, and Humble improves to 8-1 on the season, with a 31-21 win over Kingwood.
