What an entrance by the Austin band, but the story was Wisdom. The Generals were 3-0 for the first time since 1998 as they took the field Thursday night.
Wisdom led 6-0 after 1, but really got things cooking in the 2nd quarter. Felix Tuyisaba (Too-yee-Saba) throws it to Ajani (Uh-JOHN-knee) Mayuex (May-yucks) who does an excellent job of "high-pointing" the ball and brings it down for the score. 13-0.
Then Tuyisaba rolls to his right, but turns back and connects with Amuir (Uh-mur) Davis on the screen. Davis bounces off one tackle at the 20 and makes it to the end zone for a 45 yard score. General with 3 passing touchdowns in the quarter as they led 20-0.
Defense was swarming all night. They had 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery in just the first half. Ricardo Rodriguez returns this pick 69 yards for a touchdown to help the Generals win our defensive title belt. Wisdom wins 58-6 to go to 4-0 as they hope to make the playoffs for the first time in 44 years.
