Houston Heights has a Texas A&M Legend's son Behind Center and They Want a District Championship

When the Bulldogs of Houston Heights began off season practices to get ready for the 2023 football campaign, there was no doubt what their primary goal was. A goal that’s easier said than done as Lamar has been the king of the hill in 18-6A for decades. Although, it’s not an impossible feat. Heights ended the Texans 72 game district winning streak in 2020 and earned that district title. And this year’s Bulldog squad has the talent to make it happen again. But there are other objectives that the team is striving for. Such as erasing the stigma that Houston I-S-D teams can’t advance far in the post season A lot of the enthusiasm over this season’s Bulldog team comes from their new signal caller….Reggie McNeal No, not “that” Reggie McNeal….but close. We’re talking about Reggie McNeal, JUNIOR. The son of the most electrifying quarterbacks Texas A&M fans have ever seen. McNeal Senior started for the Aggies for parts of all 4 years he was there including a junior season where he set a school record for offensive yards with over 35 hundred. Now his son, just a 16 year old, is playing the same position his dad did and finding success as well. The potential is there for the younger McNeal. And, of course, the inevitable comparisons to his dad will come. But Junior is looking to plot his on course and step out from Senior’s huge shadow.
