The Hitchcock Bulldogs at state for the first time since 2004 took on San Antonio Cole in a 3-A semifinal.
They got off to a tough start. The Eagles opened the game on a 16-0 run. Trey Blackmore with the 4 point play here. 19-5 Cole after 1.
Bulldogs would inch back in the 2nd quarter. Jayden Saxon-Rivera working the inside for a bucket but Hitchcock still trailed 28-13 at the half.
Second half was a different story. Aderius Blanks open in the corner and he knocks down the 3 to start the 3rd.
Then Damien McDaniel and Blanks work the give and go. McDaniel would score 2 of his 11 points on the layup and the deficit is under double digits
Christian Dorsey would pop open in the 4th for 3 of his 12 points. Hitchcock had it down to 3 points.
But they couldn't get the lead and when Dre Ray goes down the lane for the one handed stuff, that would do it for the Bulldogs as they fall 53-49 to end a great season.
