Congrats to Elsik’s defensive lineman Jaleel Carter who was named the Alief ISD scholar athlete of the month. Jaleel has a 3.7 GPA and scholarship offers from the Air Force Academy and Northwestern to name a few. It was Hightower who got on the board first, on the Canes opening drive Courtland Boykins with a 33 yard touchdown run 6-0 Hightower. Elsik bounced right back, EJ Davis takes in a 33 yard touchdown run of his own. This one wasn’t quite as direct as Davis has to cut back across the field, but it gives the Rams a 7-6 lead all the same. Late in the 1st qtr. it’s EJ Davis once again, this time it’s a 54 touchdown run to make it 14-6 Elsik. 2nd qtr. and Hightower gets back into it, what a catch by Keelan Johnson in the back of the endzone, it was a 33 yard TD pass from Neiko Hollins. Hightower knocks Elsik from the ranks of the unbeaten, 21-14 the final.
