Head Coach Tom Westerberg, Barbers Hill High School - Chevy Spotlight

Yes, there are big changes at Barber’s Hill where players listened to their new coach this week for the 1st time... And there’s also plenty of excitement about Coach Tom Westerberg. In a move that sent shockwaves through Texas high school football, he left an Allen program he’d turned into a powerhouse over 12 seasons, compiling a 148-17 record, 4 state championships & an amazing THREE in the last 4 years. As you might imagine, the Barbers Hill players were in complete disbelief when they found out about their new coach. Along with the new head coaching position, Westerberg takes on the position of athletic director at Barbers Hill… and he’s thrilled to have a nearly completed brand new indoor football practice facility. Among his new challenges, Westerberg takes over a program that’s missed the playoffs the last 3 seasons AND he brings over his spread offense to a team that’s been running an old school triple option offense. After that historic run at Allen, which included the 2nd longest winning streak in state history, we asked him what the toughest part about making this move was. And now everybody will have a reason to keep an Eagles eye on Barbers Hill.
