Game of the Week Was a Battle of the Unbeaten Between Lamar & Bellaire Was no Disappointment

Lamar and Bellaire are both unbeaten in district play heading into this showdown with first place on the line…

Bellaire jumps out early, Jordan Johnson inside to Willie McCoy, basket and the foul for McCoy, Cardinals up 5 after one.

In the 2nd, Bellaire’s Jaylon Calvin with the nice dish to a cutting Elijah Lawrence, well done right there for two.

Final moments of the first half, Kaleb Collins tosses up the runner off the glass, nice shot to beat the halftime buzzer, Lamar down two at intermission.

More from Collins in the third, he launches the long three, and I do mean long! Nothing but net for Collins.

But Bellaire’s defense turns up the heat down the stretch. Tyrell Palmer with the steal in the backcourt and he goes up for the easy deuce.

More pressure the Cards, Calvin with the backcourt steal this time, and check out the acrobatic layup to finish, what a shot! Bellaire up by 5 after three.

In the fourth, McCoy crashing the boards for Bellaire, he gets the putback and he’s fouled for a three-point play.

Later, it’s Lawrence there for the pick-pocket steal and he takes it all the way for the fast break bucket and Bellaire pulls away for a 59-45 win over Lamar.
