Galveston Ball is Dominating on the Football Field

This year’s Galveston Ball football team has the perfect mascot as they have been sweeping through their schedule like a Tornado. Ball was undefeated going into Saturday’s game with Waltrip and had done so in dominating fashion. On offense they score just under 50 points a game. Pretty impressive, huh? Well that’s until you hear their defensive stats. Through 7 games the Tors have given up 7 points……total!!!!! And that includes 6 straight shutouts.

The tough times included a couple winless district seasons. But now things have turned around in a big way. The offense is putting up big numbers behind 3 year starter, Seth Williams, who is just under a thousand yards this season. It’s been Seth’s leadership that has helped keep the Tors focused through those past couple years. However with his brother, Jonah, now starring on the defensive side of the ball, that same focus is being tested each and every practice.

That kind of sibling rivalry has kept the competitive juices flowing with the whole team. Playing in 9-5A Division 1 against HISD teams has resulted in some lopsided scores, but the Tors have found ways to get better in practice playing each other.
