Elsewhere in 4A region 3 area round play, Tomball Memorial took on Friendswood. 3rd qtr. Friendswood's Maggie Roher goes in strong for a 33-29 Mustang lead. Tomball Memorial's Emily Chaffin dumps it inside to Kenya Miles for the basket, Miles had a team high 20 for the game. Then look at the effort from Miles getting on the floor to make the pass to Jalyn Clay, and things were tied @ 37 going into 4th. Friendswood's Hope Jensen knocks down the midrange J to make it 43-40 Mustangs. Late 4th, Caitlin Modesett launches a long 2 and watch it roll around before finally dropping through. 45-41 there. Modesett led everyone with 26 and Friendswood grabs control down the stretch, outscoring the Wildcats 19-4 in the final quarter. Things are capped off by the Roher layup as the final horn sounds. The Mustangs advance with the 56-41 win.
