Friendswood Mustangs vs. Dawson Eagles - 2013 Basketball - Week 2

The Friendswoods Fanatics making the road trip to Pearland on Friday night to see the Mustangs take on the Dawson Eagles. Mustangs trying to dig out of a hole from a bad shooting first quarter, Lane Griffon buries the three from the corner to pull Friendswood within 5. Dawson's Jonathan Devaughn comes up with a huge steal and feeds Tony Upchurch for the monster slam as the Eagles extend their lead going into the break. Third quarter, Mustangs now down by 9 points but Chris Collins gives them a huge momentum boost as he cans this three at the buzzer to pull Friendswood within 6 points to start the fourth quarter. Eagles still on top and trying to stay there as Nick Bennett gets the bounce off the glass for 2 points. Friendswood down two with 17 seconds to play and they run a play for Quinton Mertz who knocks down a clutch three pointer to give the Mustangs a 46-45 lead with 7 seconds to play. Eagles with a chance as they inbound the ball and get it up court pretty quickly but can't get a shot off as time expires and the Mustangs pull off a huge upset as they beat the state's 20th ranked Dawson Eagles 46-45.
