If any team was to knock Ridge Point off their throne, Hightower has the best chance.
Let's pick it up mid 1st quarter, tie game at 7 when Ridge Point's Wesley Drummer squeezes through the hole and goes 24 yards for the touchdown giving the Panthers a 14-7 lead.
But on the ensuing kickoff, take a look at Hightower's Zion Kearney (Kir-KNEE). The Oklahoma commit takes off right and is in no man's land.....but he waits for his blockers on the left, cuts back, and it's over. 95 yard return to the house. Extra point missed and Hurricanes trail 14-13.
2nd quarter, Austin Carlisle and Dane Jones had already hooked up for 2 first half scores....why not a 3rd. This 23 yard hook up helped the Panthers take a 28-21 halftime lead.
3rd quarter, Hightower gets on top. This is Jeremy Payne with a 14 yard jaunt to the end zone. Payne rushed for 144 yards and 2 scores as the Hurricanes led 29-28.
Mid 3rd, Carlisle answers back with his arm once again. This time the lucky receiver is Baylor bound, Mason Dossett (Daw-SET). And when his defenders collide it's an easy 61 yard score. 4 touchdown passes for Carlisle and Ridge Point up 36-29.
The Panthers put some icing on the cake with a 4th quarter touchdown run from Drummer. Ridge Point looking good for another district title as they beat Hightower, 43-36
