Episcopal Knights vs. Kinkaid Falcons - 2014 Football - Week 6

July 21, 2018
It was a matchup of the past two SPC champs as Kinkaid traveled to Episcopal. Kinkaid is led by QB JT Granato who has committed to Rice. 1st quarter Episcopal’s Preston Heard goes up top to Kobi Owen for a 38 yard touchdown, 13-0 Knights. Kinkaid bounces back in the 2nd, JT Granato with a 29 yard strike to Jacob Mathews for a touchdown, Granato had two touchdown passes in the 2nd and the Falcons would take a 1 point lead. Still in the second, Episcopal comes right back, Heard swings it over to Jhamon Ausbon, and Ausbon cuts back across the field and the sophomore is gone, 79 yards on the touchdown, 27-21 Episcopal. Heard had 302 yards passing and 4 touchdowns on the night. Kinkaid was trying for one more score right before the half, but Marvin Wilson introduces himself to Granato not once, but twice. Rice fans are probably getting a little nervous as the 6-5 290 pounder has his way with the Kinkaid offensive line. Episcopal wasted no time getting started in the 3rd, Heard puts it up for Ausbon and what a great catch by Ausbon to set up a touchdown and a 13 point lead 34-21. Ausbon racked up 140 yards receiving on the night. Heard got shaken up and had to miss part of the Knights next series, but no worries, back up quarterback Gavin Geib dumps it to Jimmy McCartney for the first of McCartney’s 2 second half touchdown receptions. Great effort for Episcopal as they win in convincing fashion 48-21.
