Elkins Knights vs Dayton Broncos - 2013 Football - Zero Week

July 21, 2018
The Elkins Knights were at home to open the season against the Dayton Broncos. Broncos with the ball, second play from scrimmage. Jacarius Keener with the keeper, but he loses the handle and Keandre Colquitt recovers the fumble for Elkins. The Knights would capitalize on the turnover when Jonathan Giles fires a strike to Romanon Skinner to put Elkins up 7-0 early in the first. Same score second quarter, when we saw more from the Knights. Grant Patterson scampers in for a 5-yard score and Elkins takes a 14-0 advantage. Elkins was not holding back, on the next series Giles goes deep and Shahab Khorshidpa brings it down and fights for extra yardage to complete a 54-yard play. Then Giles visits pay dirt on a 9-yard run and the Knights extend the lead to 21-nothing. Elkins would put up 401 yards on the ground on the night. Elkins was still dominating late in the first half, Timothy Jackson gets the call this time and scores from 8 yards out. The Knights scored 28 unanswered points to start the game. Dayton finally stopped the bleeding as Keener goes to the air and finds Kyle McBride who takes it 65 yards for the score. The Broncos get on the board and make it 28-7, but it was nowhere near enough as Elkins comes away with an explosive opening win 55-13
