Elkins Knights vs. Bellaire Cardinals - 2014 Football - Week 1

Texas Tech commit Jonathan Giles led Elkins in its opener against Bellaire. Elkins on its 3rd play from scrimmage sees Giles swing it to over 10 who Darren Woods and Woods does the rest as he blazes in for a 41 yard touchdown and an early 7-0 Knights lead. On Elkins next possession, it's the same play, and the same result. The Giles to Woods combo puts Elkins up 14-0 midway thru 1. Bellaire stops the bleeding, Trevon Smith to Courtney Lark for a 12 yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 14-7. 2nd quarter, Bellaire with a chance to tie the game, but Kenneth Murray steps in front of the Trevon Smith pass 2 yards deep in the endzone. It was 1 of 3 Cardinals turnovers deep in Elkins territory. 3 plays later it's Aldan Edison with the 23 yard carry up the middle for the touchdown to make it 21-7 Elkins and the Knights roll 52-27 to start the season.
