Elijah Sherwood's Stellar Season & Hitchcock High's Playoff Journey

This season, Hitchcock High School's basketball team made a remarkable run in the state playoffs, led by senior Elijah Sherwood. After a disappointing attempt to secure a championship three-peat, the Bulldogs saw a significant mid-season challenge when key player Lloyd Chubby Jones was injured. However, this setback paved the way for Sherwood to emerge as a leader. Standing at six-foot-five and known for his high-flying antics, Sherwood's performance peaked during his senior night, delivering a staggering 36 points and ten rebounds. His prowess on the court, combined with his dual participation in basketball and football, has made him a standout athlete. Looking ahead, Sherwood aims to continue his athletic and academic pursuits at a small university or junior college. Coach Christopher Jordan Foster, a Hitchcock alumni himself, has nurtured a tight-knit community culture, emphasizing success both on and off the court.
