Then Mertz with the 3 that just beats the buzzer, Mustang crowd in a frenzy. 2nd quarter Dawson's Tony Upchurch drives the baseline and slams it home. The Dawson crowd comes alive. Dawson with a 28-25 halftime lead. 2nd half, Friendswood's Bryce Ervin with the drive for 2. Dawson back on top, 34-32. Then Tony Upchurch drives for two, Eagles lead by 10 44-34. Back comes Friendswood, and when Lan Griffin hits the three it's tied at 44. :42 seconds left Friendswood up by 1, Jonathan Devaughn steals and lays it in. Dawson up by 1, 50-49. Then Jordan Wood will hit a free throw to tie it at 50, check out the crowd reaction, we go to overtime. In OT Nick Bennet gets the basket Dawson up by 2. Friendswood ansers, Jordan Wood inside, we go to a 2nd OT tied at 54. Then it get's interesting, the A/C goes off and the floor starts to sweat, players start to slip, and the game is halted. The players are sitting around as they attempt to dry the floor but it would be suspended until Wednesday where Dawson would edge out Friendswood 58-55.
