July 21, 2018
Over to a big girls game in 6A where #1 Cy Woods hosted #12 Dekaney and it was a low scoring affair early on which isn't surprising when 6-9 Nancy Mulkey who is a future Oklahoma Sooner is around to protect the basket. Cy Woods was up 6 late in the 2nd quarter, but Dekaney’s Jaelyn Richard Harris to Kene (Kenay) Hamilton for the long 2 pointer, it caps off a 5-0 run cutting the lead to 19-18. Right before the buzzer though its Mulkey with the close range bucket on the baseline and Cy Woods went into the half up 23-20. 3rd qtr, future Pepperdine Wave Erica Ogwumike, drives in to make the score 34-26 Cy Woods. Ogwumike led the Wildcats with 16. Dekaney was averaging around 60 points per game, but had a tough time coming back as Mulkey had 8 blocks and no telling how many altered shots. 4th Kayla Alker gets the pass and Cy Woods starts to break things open with a double digit lead. Later in the 4th, Mulkey is there for the putback for 2 of her 14 points as the Wildcats move to 14-1 on the season with the 58-40 victory.
