Cy Woods Wildcats vs. Cy Lakes Spartans - 2013-14 Boys Basketball - 01/03/14

It was a contrast of styles as Cy Lakes with it's talented backcourt led by super sophomore D'Aaron Fox took on Cy Woods who is led by one of the area's top junior frontcourt players in Samir Sehic. Early on it's the guard blocking the shot of the big man as Fox speeds in for the swat. Fox shows off the quickness as he drives to the hole, and 1 Fox is pumped as the Spartans went up 2. Sehic shows the skills on the defensive end with the block, but also flashes some of that offensive finesse, as he drives baseline not bad for 6-7 255 and he keeps Cy Woods within 4. 2nd quarter, Charles Williams with the rainbow 3 from the corner and Lakes opens up a 12 point lead. Then Fox launches it off the glass for a three, the reaction is similar to the one Michael Jordan had against the Trailblazers in the 1992 NBA Finals. The two teams went into the break with Cy Lakes up 52-36. Cy Woods bounces right back in the 3rd, Josh Samuels knocks down the baseline 3 and gets fouled for a 4 point play, the Wildcats open up on a 9-0 run and come all the way back for the victory. 76-73 the final.
