Cy Woods Stays Unbeaten in District 16-6A Thriller Over Cy-Fair | 35-24

A Saturday afternoon district matchup between two Cy-Fair ISD programs turned into one of the more competitive 16-6A games of the young season. Cy Woods came in unbeaten at 3-0, Cy-Fair at 3-1, and the Wildcats needed a second-half comeback to keep their perfect district record intact.

The momentum shifted early in the second half when quarterback Sean Riegler connected with Bra'lin Cage on a flanker screen. What made the play stand out was what Cage did after the catch — spinning away from three defenders, cutting back against the grain, and dragging a tackler into the end zone to put Cy-Fair up 10-7.

Cy Woods answered through Axel Adams, who tucked a designed pass play and turned it into a rushing touchdown to put the Wildcats back in front by four. Adams later showed off his arm, dropping a perfectly placed ball to Chase Holbert for a touchdown that cut into what had become a 10-point Cy-Fair lead in the fourth quarter.

Ron'Tavious Pomier then took a handoff, changed direction sharply, and gave Cy Woods the lead for good. With the clock winding down, Adams put the game away himself — staying inbounds along the sideline and taking it 41 yards to seal the 35-24 final.

Cy Woods remains unbeaten in District 16-6A play heading into next week.
