Cy Woods High School Girl's Basketball - Chevy Spotlight

When you uncover the talent of top ranked Cy Woods basketball team, it’s impossible to overlook 6’9 Nancy Mulkey. Just ask her opponents. It’s always a block party at the Lady Wildcats games with Nancy averaging 3 blocks a game this season And for one of the top 25 ranked Juniors in the nation, it’s not just about rebounds & block shots for the Oklahoma commit. Last Summer Mulkey had a chance to play with the US Under 17 team & she says don’t think that her decision to play basketball wasn’t just about her height but it sure helps But Cy Woods is much more than Mulkey, there’s point guard & Tulsa commit Tatyana Perez, standout Episcopal transfer Jasmine Williams & then there’s Erica Ogwumike, who was nominated for the McDonald’s All American game. Erica is the 4th Ogwumike basketball standout. Sisters Nneka & Chiney who were McDonald’s All-Americans, are now playing in the WNBA. Erica will join her sister Olivia at Pepperdine & says she doesn’t feel the expectations but embraces the family legacy. After falling to eventual state champion Manvel in the Region Finals last year, Cy Woods is ready for big things It’s hard to imagine that this talented group will be waving goodbye to this season anytime soon. The Cy Woods Girls Basketball Team, this weeks Chevy Spotlight.
