Cy Lakes Spartans vs. Richland Rebels - 2014/15 Boys Basketball - 12/30/14

Cy Lakes and perhaps the state’s top junior De’Aaron Fox traveled to the Fort Worth area for the 57th annual Whataburger Basketball Tournament. They took on Richland in the 2nd round. The Spartans are ranked 10th in the state, but Richland was able to make a game of it as CJ Roberts pumped in 13 first quarter points but landed a little gingerly there. Fox led the charge back he had 33 points before he landed awkwardly in the 3rd quarter on this lay in and had to leave the game. In his absence Spartans Coach Jeff Snedeker rallied the Spartans troops and the team stepped up, Charles Williams makes a nice move to the hoop. Fox wouldn’t return, but Cy Lakes was in good hands. Adnan Bajrami leads the break, Devin Anderson can’t get the baseline 3 to fall, but Bajrami is right there to finish what he started and Cy Lakes advanced to the semifinals with the 80-67 win, but the Spartans would get knocked out by the state’s #2 ranked team in 6A Plano West.
