Cy Fair Bobcats vs Jersey Village Falcons - 2013 Football - Week 2

July 21, 2018
Cy Fair faced off against Jersey Village at the Berry Center without the services of 1st team running back Jacorey Aleem who was injured the 1st week of the season. Fortunately the Bobcats have a workhorse in Dillon Birden who scored 3 short 1st half touchdowns including these two in the 2nd quarter to give Cy Fair a 21-3 lead. Birden carried the rock 30 times for 179 yards. Things were really going Cy Fair's way, Jersey Village's LaKent Alexis figures out a way to get away from the pack on the ensuing kick, but Justin Butrell catches up and as he tries to take Alexis down Alexis fumbles and the ball bounces out of the end zone and the Bobcats recover. Jersey Village had another opportunity to take advantage of good field position right before the half and they didn't squander it this time as DeShaun Qualls comes through with the 14 yard QB keeper for a touchdown, but Cy Fair went into the break up 21-10. The Bobcats picked right back up midway through the third as Ayo Isola comes up with the short dive to make it 28-10 Cy Fair. Jersey Village kept coming back though, just like a 5-9, 300 lb. ball of fury in the form of Christian Jones who introduces himself to Cy Fair quarterback Chandler Brockman. Shockwaves were even felt in the stands. Jersey Village strikes quickly as they continue to comeback, Qualls avoids the rush and airs it to Taylor Citizen for the 53 yard TD pass and Cy Fair's lead was just 28-23 midway through the 4th. But it would get no closer, Cy Fair's defense holds on and the Bobcats get the victory. 28-23 is the final.
