Cy-Fair looking to wrap-up the outright district title, but Cy Creek can still win a share of the 17-6A crown with a win over the Bobcats.
Cy-Fair’s defense comes up with an early takeaway as Kade Campbell picks off the pass off the deflection, and that sets up the Bobcats with good field position near midfield.
Then the Cy-Fair ground game goes to work. Watch as LJ Johnson drags three defenders with him into the end zone, what a run, Bobcats lead 7-0.
Still in the first, the Bobcats turn to Johnson again, no need to carry anyone with him on this run, he goes right through the heart of the defense 24 yards for the score, Cy-Fair up 17-0 after one.
In the 2nd, the Bobcats go to the air, as Carter Cravens connects with Bayne Tryon over the middle, and Tryon holds off the defender and takes it 45 yards to the house, Cy-Fair rolling, up 24-0 at halftime.
More Cy-Fair in the third, the same duo hooks up again and Cravens finds Tryon, and he’s off to the races, Tryon finally gets tripped up deep in Cougars territory but it’s a big 52 yard gain.
Moments later, Cravens keeps it on the read option, and he scampers into the end zone from 8 yards out, and the Cy-Fair rout is on.
Then it’s Johnson taking the pitch, and he powers his way in for a 7-yard touchdown, his third score of the night, and Cy-Fair caps off a perfect regular season in impressive fashion, with a 41-7 win over Cy Creek.
