Columbus vs Hallettsville - 2019 Texas High School Football Playoffs - Region Finals Highlights

In Class 3A Division One, the Columbus Cardinals meet Hallettsville for a berth in the state semifinals…

Columbus discovers the end zone first as Tyree Simcik(Sim-chick) plows his way across the goalline from a yard out, it’s 7-0 Cardinals.

Simcik is just getting started. In the 2nd, he scoots in for a 4-yard score, and Columbus leads it 14-0.

Then Simcik takes the handoff and goes right up the middle, he makes a man miss and he’s gone. He sets sail on a 41-yard touchdown run as Columbus opens up a 21-0 lead.

It’s 21-7 in the final minute of the first half when Simcik breaks free again. He races 63 yards down the far sideline and just does fight his way in for his fourth touchdown of the first half. Cardinals lead 27-7 at intermission.

In the third, Columbus quarterback Brock Schobel, the son of former NFL Star Aaron Schobel, airs it out deep for Kaycon(Kace-on) Wilson. Perfect pitch and catch for a 52-yard touchdown, and Columbus is rolling, up 34-13.

Simcik isn’t done either, look at the spin move, then he bounces out of another tackle, and he takes it all the way for a 41-yard score, he rushes for 233 yards and 5 touchdowns on the night! What a performance, and Columbus is moving on with a 48-25 win over Hallettsville. The Cardinals will get Grandview in the state semifinals.
