Collin Wilder, Katy High School Football - Chevy Spotlight
One of the big reasons why Katy was ranked number one in the nation after winning the Texas State Championship was the Tigers stout defense and the defensive captain behind it all was number 27 safety, Collin Wilder. Compiling a 61-3 record with 4 consecutive State Championship game appearances it’s no wonder the Tigers are Texas State Champions. Collin has played 64 games and in four of those State Championship appearances he helped the Tigers win two. After Collin’s impressive record Coach Gary Joseph noted, “He’s not only a great football player, he is a great leader.” If for some reason you missed one of Collin’s 64 games at Katy, don’t worry you will get more opportunities to watch him play as he will be staying home to play his college ball at the University of Houston. And maybe set another record in the process. Congratulations to Collin Wilder for being this week’s Chevy Spotlight!
