Cleveland High School Track and Field - Chevy Spotlight

On a rainy day in Cleveland Texas the High School Track team struggles to get in a good practice. But hurdles are something these student athletes have learned to get over. That works both literally and figuratively. So on this day they moved the practice inside. In his first year as the Athletic Director Keith Hendrix has taken on a lot of rolls. In addition to being the Athletic Director he is also the head football coach and track coach. While he takes his role in athletics seriously, he knows how important it is for his student athletes to be successful in the classroom. That is why his teams take time each day to work together in study hall... Only a Sophomore Coach Hendrix son Jett, yes I said Jett, takes the time working with his classmates seriously. Often finding as much pride in helping them ace an exam as he does in winning a race. Working with each other off the field as well as on the field has brought the track team together in a way that has brought them closer together as a team. The atmosphere that has been created from the dedication to each other has translated in to success on the track as well. 2 and 0 on the season, the Indians finished first out of 11 schools and the Trojan Relays hosted by Coldspring High School. It is also why the Cleveland High School Indian Boys Track team is in this week's Chevy Spotlight.
