Bush Broncos vs. Elkins Knights - 2014/15 Boys Basketball - 02/17/15

02/20/15

The state’s 10th ranked team Elkins was looking to sew up the 23-5A title as they traveled to #11 Bush. In the first quarter, Peter Byrd hits the first of his 4 three pointers on the night and it was obvious that the Broncos were out for revenge for an earlier loss to Elkins. Brendon Ganaway gets the steal and converts on the other end. The future Southen Jaguar led everyone with 26 points. In the 2nd look at 6-6 275 pound Josuha Jones, he’ll play football for the U of H next season, but he made his presence felt to the tune of 8 points and 8 rebounds. But Elkins wasn’t going away, in the 3rd, Bryce Terrell gets the bucket and converts the 3 point play to cut the lead to 28-26. Ganaway lobs to Eden Ewing and the Broncos were reignited with the big Jam! Bush head coach Ronnie Courtney made sure Broncos didn't let off the gas. Ganaway drives in and the Broncos would get up by as much as 15 in the 4th quarter. But Elkins makes a run, Nathaniel Cephas with a 3 point play, the Knights cut the lead to as little as 4 points, but Bush gets the job done 64-58, and the two teams end up as district co-champions.
