Brazosport Girls Basketball Turns Season Around
The winds of change have hit the hardwood at Brazosport. The Lady Exporters fought through a difficult 2022-23 season that only produced 4 victories the entire year. The results weren’t there and sometime neither was the effort. Flip the calendar just one school year and suddenly fans are looking at an entirely different Brazosport squad. The Lady Exporters surpassed their win total from last year in just 7 games and they took off from there. Going into this week, the girls are 20-5 on the season and nestled into the second place position in 26-4A. Some of the credit for the increase in wins can be attributed to some key off season transfers. The district’s leader in blocked shots and rebounds, Londyn Brown, came for her senior season from West Columbia. And Nadia Ewells transferred in from Angleton and has been a key contributor at the guard position. Brown has brought a defensive element to the Lady Exporters that they were missing last season. Deja El-Amin (La-MEEN….that’s how she pronounced it) is the scoring threat for Brazosport as she averages over 17 points a game. It’s all come together for the Lady Exporters as they are confident in making a long playoff run and possibly silenting some critics Subscribe to Houston Inside High School Sports to stay up to date on everything high school sports related in the Greater Houston Area!
