Boling Girls Basketball is Making Strides on the Court and in the Community
You don’t have to be at practice very long to see that this bunch loves being together. The Boling girls basketball team is all smiles as they are near the top of 24-3A. Coach Johnathan Gibson has himself a young team, but a determined team as well. He starts 2 freshman, 2 sophomores and a junior and being a small school, only has 8 players on varsity. So that means his girls play a lot and practice hard
The Bulldogs are conditioned and also battle tested. In the non district, they played a lot of higher classification teams and they took their lumps. But, the goal is to let what they learned in the losses, help in the long run. Such as their 24 point win over rival, East Bernard.
The Bulldogs are led by their sophomore backcourt of former district newcomer of the year, Savannah Savage, and the coach’s daughter, Kenna Gibson. Having your dad as your coach can definitely have it’s highs and lows
Taking home the district crown and advancing deep in the playoffs is what these girls strive for, but being positive role models in the Boling community is most definitely a goal as well. One of their favorite events each year is helping package 15 hundred plates of food for the Thanksgiving Feast of Sharing.
