Bay City 28, Navasota 21 | District 11-4A D1 | Texas Oncology Team of the Week

October 7, 2026
Bay City rallied past Navasota 28-21 in a District 11-4A D1 showdown, with a 92-yard TD pass and Davieon Agu's big night leading the Blackcats.

Two teams sitting at 4-and-1 met in a District 11-4A Division I matchup with real playoff implications, and Bay City left with the win that matters most — the one on the road.

Navasota drew first blood when quarterback Jace Jablonski hit Jayden Spriggs on a 6-yard slant to put the Rattlers up 7-0 early. Bay City answered in the second quarter when Keimarion Wiggins pump-faked a rusher out of his shoes and found Kian Franklin wide open for a 30-yard score, though a missed extra point left the Blackcats trailing 7-6 at halftime.

The second half belonged to Bay City. Davieon Agu took over in the third quarter, dragging a defender before breaking free into the endzone to give the Blackcats the lead. Then came the back-breaker — Wiggins, backed up to his own goal line, launched a deep ball to Kashmere Francis, who stiff-armed a defender and turned it into a 92-yard touchdown. Bay City led 21-7.

Navasota made it a game when Jablonski stepped up in the pocket and lofted one to Spriggs, who came down with it between two defenders to cut the deficit to seven. But Agu found the endzone again to seal it, and Bay City walked away with a 28-21 victory.

The win moves the Blackcats to 5-and-1 and earns them the Texas Oncology Team of the Week.
